Could NC Legislature Have Saved Lives?

NC Legislature:

As it is with so many Americans these days, I continue to grow more infuriated with politicians who never cease to usurp the unalienable rights of the individual, while simultaneously placing their partisan politics above justice — and above the oath they took to uphold the US Constitution and defend our rights!

There will always be criminals who would just assume murder anyone for anything.  The only thing standing in OUR way as Americans in protecting ourselves is YOU — the politicians.

So while you are playing your partisan political games, innocent people here in NC are dying!!!

How does that make you all feel?  How can you sleep at night?  Or have you no consciences whatsoever?

Or have you not yet realized that by prohibiting the carrying of firearms in NC restaurants, YOU have aided murderers in restaurant homicide in North Carolina???

Every single member of the NC legislature who has voted for any such prohibition should be tried as an accomplice to murder along side of each and every perpetrator of NC restaurant homicides.

My hope is that more Americans will begin to ignore your tyrannical legislation that violates our unalienable rights — especially those which are designed to prevent US from protecting our life, liberty and pursuit of happiness… in other words, most of it!

But I cannot say it better then Suzanna Gratia Hupp, as she explains how tyrannical politicians were to blame the tragic day her parents and 21 other innocent people were murdered:  Suzanna Gratia Hupp explains meaning of 2nd Amendment!

In liberty (wherever one can still find it)...

Subject: Could Republicans Have Saved Danielle
Date: January 19, 2012 5:05:27 AM EST

Dear Gun Rights Supporter,

As Grass Roots North Carolina has relentlessly pressed for allowing concealed handgun permit-holders to protect themselves and their families in restaurants, naysayers have demanded, "Why would anybody need a gun in a restaurant?"

Sadly, we now have a more poignant answer than ever before: Danielle Watson.

According to her fiancée, Danielle was tough. But she wasn't tougher than the ex-con -- just released after a stint for armed robbery -- who stabbed her to death and left her behind a dumpster.

Worse, the 9-1-1 call made by her fiancée produced a tragically predictable result: Police failed to prevent her gruesome murder.

Police didn't even show up!

Danielle Watson
Restaurant homicide victim Danielle Watson
A manager at the Flying Biscuit Café, Danielle wasclosing last weekend. Her cell phone placed a suspicious call to her fiancée just after closing time. He called 9-1-1.

But in a demonstration of how well police protect you, the 9-1-1 dispatcher recorded the wrong name and address for the business, and when responding officers went to the wrong place and found nothing, failed to even call her fiancée back to correct the error.

The result? Sure, they found the perp - Mark Anthony Cox - in Fayetteville, long after they dragged her bloody corpse from behind a dumpster.
There you go: Law and order at work.

Danielle was going to be married next weekend. Instead, her family will bury her. Did I mention she was also pregnant, and the perp could (thankfully) be charged for two murders?

So they got the perp. Big deal. She's still dead. Adding insult to injury, Danielle - and restaurant workers like her - are prohibited from protecting themselves by law.

     Why?

  • Because the Flying Biscuit has an on-premises alcohol consumption permit;
  • Because concealed carry is prohibited in such places by anybody but the "owner or lessee"; and
  • Because Republican Senate leaders fret that expanding concealed carry in restaurants doesn't "poll well."
Yep. For the first time since 1892, you put Republicans in power to represent your rights, and instead of leading, they're slaves to polls. Meanwhile, restaurant workers like Danielle die.

Oh, and not just Danielle: Two days later, also in Charlotte,  Ed Rosen was murdered in a restaurant robbery by two perps who are still at large.

So I'd like you to put a new phrase in your vocabulary:

"Restaurant Homicide"

And instead of telling politicians you should be able to protect your family at the Flying Biscuit because concealed handgun permit-holders are responsible, or because they still won't be allowed to imbibe alcohol, or even that after a year of restaurant carry in Virginia, restaurant crime dropped by 5%.

Nope. I want you to email Senate President Pro Tem Phil Berger, Rules Chair  Tom Apodaca, and Judiciary Chair Buck Newton, and I want you to demand that they...

And I also want you to CALL THEM:
  • Sen. Phil Berger(919) 733-5708
  • Sen. Tom Apodaca(919) 733-5745
  • Sen. Buck Newton(919) 715-3030

And while you're at it, I need you to do one more thing: Sign the GRNC petition for restaurant carry.
Armatissimi e liberissimi,

F. Paul Valone
President, Grass Roots North Carolina
