Barbarians for Health Freedom

in reference to the following map:
i have heard it said, "Wow - this map makes it pretty clear that the entire civilized world has universal health care except for: most of Africa and S. America, all of China, Kazakhistan, Turkey and the United States. We're a bunch of @#$%&! barbarians.".

so, let me get this straight... "barbarians" are now to be defined as:

1. People of countries who do not subscribe to the false concept that health care is an entitlement.

2. People of countries who are for maximizing individual health freedom.

this is certainly news to me! 8-)

regardless of what anyone wants to believe, the fact is that health care is no more an entitlement than is food & water, clothing, and housing.

it is true that all humans have the unalienable right to life, liberty, property, etc., however it is not true that these rights include a right for these things to be provided to us -- BIG DIFFERENCE!
just because individuals of various countries have decided to give up their health freedoms makes it somehow a good idea for us to do likewise? i challenge anyone to prove it!
why do the proponents of socialized health care continue to point to other countries as some kind of litmus test for how it might work here, when a much more accurate testimony would be to examine how effectively and proficiently the American Federal Government governs the socialized health care system they already ruin... or sorry, run? 8-)
how good of a job is the FED doing with the Veteran's Hospitals? i've heard mostly horror stories from both patients and doctors.
how about Medicare & Medicaid? are those FED institutions operating efficiently? it seems not.
and while we're at it, how about the economy in general? how wonderful a job has the FED been doing over the last century? pretty badly actually. in fact, our economy couldn't be mismanaged much worse than it has been for decades.
has it not occurred to the proponents of socialized health care that, the governments of other countries, in some cases having a population and geographic size parallel to some of our states, might not be as corrupt as the American Federal Government?
has it also not occurred to the same folks that there is an ominous element of fascism alive and well here in America? surely most everyone knows that America has been seriously plagued by corporate welfare since at least the better part of the 20th Century -- BIG BUSINESS purchases government officials, which in turn create special interest legislation benefitting themselves, rather than We the People. what makes anyone think this is going to magically change?
i assert that other countries with socialized health care do not have anywhere near the degree of this problem as do we. therefore, presuming what might work OK in another country is short sided without considering all aspects of the issue, many of which are often hidden.
and after all, there was no real health care problem to speak of in America prior to the federal government getting involved, yet now folks want it to get more involved? i'm not following the logic in this strategy.
it seems that often wherever the FED extends its tentacles, bureaucracy, inefficiency, and corruption follows. and of course, that stands to reason, for power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
for decades now, the FED has been wielding virtually unlimited power, without regard to its legal Constitutional limitations. the FED wields far more unlimited power than does any of these other countries combined. the continuation of increasing the power of the FED will only yield far more corruption which can not even be charted when comparing socialized health care of other countries.
so i reiterate, what examples exist which indicate the FED might do a good job managing the few remaining health freedoms we have left?
in the 20th Century, the FED has usurped our unalienable right to various alternative health remedies and medicines, and has forced alternative health clinics out of the country which were not parallel to the arbitrary mandates of the AMA and FDA. yet, these two organizations in particular have been approving poisons for years with no accountability whatsoever.
President Obama had some very good things to say about accountability when he recently addressed children in public schools throughout the country. but how are Americans supposed to take accountability of one's actions seriously when the FED continues to exemplify a total lack thereof?
should America make the horrible mistake in continuing the move toward fully socialized healthcare, which began usurping We the People's health freedoms decades ago and has been worsening ever since, we can all look forward to an exponentially increased authorian mandate to entirely remove your choices of alternative health care and medicine, and replace them with "AMA/FDA officially recognized and approved standards".
also, expect seriously increased taxes on products deemed to be "unhealthy" by those who think they have a right to tell you what is good for your health.
for example, we've already seen taxes being increased on alcohol and tobacco under the guise that these things are bad for our health, and therefore, since the health of an individual is now considered to be an entitlement and thus a burden which all Americans are forced to bear, factions are falsely asserting that people who smoke and drink should pay extra because they are "less healthy".
this fallacy of an argument was presented to me by a Canadian lady when i visited there years back. i promptly turned around the question asking, "what about fast foods, partially hydrogenated oils, MSG (now allowed to be listed under convoluted names), sodas, and all the other poisons which government organizations approve? ... are those items not to be taxed double or perhaps triple that of alcohol and tobacco? if not, then why not?"
further, a very good argument can be made that alcohol is actually healthy, while these other poisons are deemed acceptable by the FDA and AMA as food and medicine ingredients!
American socialized health care will greatly benefit the fascist bureaucrats who are in bed with BIG PHARM. i'm sure the makers of various popular anger management pills love the fact that parallel natural remedies having far less negative side affects which would be otherwise inexpensive remain illegal. with government force on their side, there is potentially no end to the variety of mandates with which we can fully expect to be inundated.
and before the socialized advocates respond with the notion that we need a "public option" along side of the private ones, consider that it is impossible for any private market to compete on such an unleveled playing field. no company can operate in the red the way the FED operates, for it would go bankrupt... as our country continues to gradually go bankrupt, eventually to the point of no return.
therefore, the so called "public option" is only a temporary stage between our present half-baked socialized health care system which is not working, to a fully featured, non-functional, Americanized socialized health care system, with no regard whatsoever to our unalienable right to health freedom.
on our Liberty Asheville website, there is a link to a Google Doc where we are working on "Free Market Solutions to Health Care" <http://libertyasheville.ning.com/group/healthfreedom/forum/topics/free-market-solutions-to>. everyone is invited to help come up with true health care reform which allows for maximizing our health freedoms.

in the meantime, please, feel free to consider me a "barbarian for health freedom"! ;-)

in liberty,

HAPPY Constitution Day! -- First CC2009 "Money Bomb" is TODAY!

HAPPY CONSTITUTION DAY fellow Americans!
today might ought to be a national holiday, but it isn't... yet!
it would be wonderful if today in schools all across the nation, there would be special attention and focus given to the philosophies on which the Constitution was created... but as it was when i was in school, i somehow doubt there is all that much focus given to such valuable learning.
in fact, i wonder how many school administrators and teachers even are aware that today is Constitution Day...? if we adults give little to no attention to Constitutional principles, how then will the next generation of Americans be equipped to deal with legally governing this nation, and holding the government accountable for its un-Constitutional actions?
in preparation for the upcoming 2009 Continental Congress to be held this November
i have recently volunteered to be the WTP NC State Coordinator, and also have thrown my hat in the ring for CC2009 NC Delegate candidacy. therefore, i'm frantically trying to help spread the word at this late hour that we need your help in making this historic event a success.
if you can donate anything -- even $10 -- to WTP today in support of our Continental Congress 2009 plans this Nov, it would be most greatly appreciated!
we are shooting for a $20 donation from 12,500 Americans, dedicated toward ending the lack of accountability which has existed in our government for a very long time.
Americans have had high hopes in advancing liberty via the ballot box, but many are coming to the conclusion that this strategy has not been working efficiently nor effectively now for several decades.

we know that Albert Einstein is credited with saying, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." and how true that is!

therefore, why are the American people so bent on continuing to put all their eggs in one basket?
i'm not suggesting we entirely give up on striving to put libertarian/Constitutionally minded representatives into offices at local, State and Federal positions. however, i am suggesting we try other avenues of strategy which have not yet been tried in the latter half of our country's history.
so please, even in these difficult economic times, if you can find it in your heart on this Constitution Day to spare $20 (or whatever you can) to help out in this monumental effort, i would greatly personally be so very thankful for your help.
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!
in liberty,

Subject: [WTP] First CC2009 "Money Bomb" on Constitution Day Sept. 17th

hdr_left.jpghdr_right.jpg

September 16, 2009

First CC2009 "Money Bomb" is Tomorrow:

Constitution Day, Thursday Sept. 17th

IndyHall-inside-small.jpg

Independence Hall, Philadelphia

CC2009-96dpi-SM1crop.jpg Be sure to check out our new CC2009 website, state/county web pages and CC2009 activist resources!

On September 17th, 1787 our founders signed the final draft of the Constitution.

Tomorrow, September 17th, 2009, we ask everyone to rise in defense of this divinely inspired document by participating in the first "CC2009 Money Bomb" event to help finance the Continental Congress 2009 event.

Our target is to raise $250,000 tomorrow in the 24 hours beginning 12:01 am Thursday. This amount represents only a $20 donation from 12,500 Freedom defenders.

We ask everyone to give what they can in support of CC2009. Donations of any size can be made through our secure donation system here. Donations which qualify for the free pure silver (.999) CC2009 medallions can be made here. Donations may be fully tax-deductible.

Note that we still need to raise almost $2M to adequately produce and host the historic, two week Continental Congress 2009 event convening on Sunday, November 9th. Although we have managed to meet our minimal contractual obligations for the venue thus far (approximately $100,000), we need to rapidly escalate our funding of this important initiative if CC2009 is to become a reality and for us to bring news of the event and the live event proceedings to the American People. We have an additional venue contract payment of $150,000 due on October 10th. But beyond the basic venue costs, lodging and food for the 153 Delegates (as well as limited staff and event speakers), we have to fund significant expenses including professional and technical services, media purchases, live webcast production and streaming, and myriad other logistics associated with the event.

Everyone on this email list has been receiving news about CC2009 for many months. It's time to decide the value of your Liberty. It is time to decide if your Constitution is worth defending. It's time to decide if your Constitution is worth defending through peaceful means. And, it's time to finally decide if you will support perhaps the single viable solution (outside the paradigm of election politics) that has been brought forth to peacefully restore Constitutional Order: Continental Congress 2009. The time to manifest CC2009 has arrived!

Rise with us in defense of our Constitution and the Light of Liberty and donate tomorrow:

Donate here and receive FREE .999 pure silver CC2009 commemorative medallions ($50 and $100 minimum donations, no limits on number of coins)

Donate here for any size donation. Donations can also be made via mail or PayPal.

Please send this "CC2009 Money Bomb" notice to all your contacts and ask that they do the same. Donations may be fully tax-deductible.

How the Freedom to Contract Protects Insurability

interesting and worth a read for
all Americans who are seeking real solutions to the problems we face with regard to the Health Care issue.
and no, the answer is not to give government even more power and control over our Health Freedom.
let us think outside the partisan box, in which we are being indoctrinated to be confined.
— — —
In response to this post, a friend wrote:

Bernard -- It sounds like you are against the bills that are being proposed by the Demo's right now. But if you are against them, let me ask you this:

What is the solution to the many uninsured people that are currently out there? Take the guy has no insurance. He has a catastrophic illness or injury. He requires a lot of medical care. He can't pay the bill. The hospital, the ambulance company, and the doctor all have to write off his bill. These costs don't just go away. They get passed on to people like me who have health insurance. This raises my annual premium. It's money out of my pocket.

If you are against the current proposals that fix this by forcing everyone to be insured, how do you propose we fix this problem?

Thanks.

***

i thought my friend had some very good questions and wanted to share this with all my friends.

i truly don't have all the answers to all these problems -- all i ever really wanted to be was a musician, and somehow i managed to wind up being overly impassioned for standing up and speaking out for liberty. 8-)
i'm still a babe with training wheels on with regard to the philosophies of liberty. thus, when i speak out against a course of action which is at enmity with liberty, it doesn't mean i know how to fix the problem, it just means that i see a problem and i feel urged to sound some kind of tyranny alarm! ;-)
it's kind of parallel to when i have a car problem. i might hear an odd noise, or feel that something is broken or breaking, which if not addressed will cause my car to stop working. i don't know how to fix the problem, but i just know there is a problem which needs to be fixed before i break down and become stranded somewhere.
the various hurdles we face as a nation are not always easy ones to stride. also, in the years of my involvement in liberty activism, i have learned that governing a people is no easy task. often, we must individually focus, or specialize, in a more narrow area of activism. if we all do likewise, we can more effectively and efficiently work together in our chosen avenues for advancing liberty.
personally, i have been primarily focusing on the matter of the lack of government accountability, the reluctance of SCOTUS in ruling on a definition of the "Accountability Clause" (last 10 words of the First Amendment), and the upcoming Continental Congress 2009, for which i am now considering candidacy as a NC delegate.
i personally feel that IF the "American" Federal Government will not be held to its Constitutional limitations and therefore refuses to obey the law of the land, then everything is moot. (i quote "American" because i no longer believe this is still the country of "America" for the very reasons i cite.)
therefore, it will not matter what legislation is passed, for what good are laws if they are not obeyed? how can this "America" if its government refuses to obey the the rule of law, and rather adopt a policy and MO of "rule of whim"?
i can say that it is quite evident through our recent history that the more We the People allow the government to get involved in areas it has no purpose and no jurisdiction, the more each of those areas get broken and corrupted. the Health Care system is no exception to this rule of thumb.
therefore, my general answer for solving such problems is to get government out of all markets outside of its proper function and within its jurisdiction and legal Constitutional limitations -- this is the only way in which a "free market" can thrive. one cannot have a "free market" and simultaneously have government intervention & "regulation" of the said market.
i only thus far skimmed over this article i sent out and posted on my blog. what i read was enough for me to realize that the article is noteworthy regarding the greater issue of Health Freedom.
it seems to stand to reason, that back when the government was not in the business of Health Care, it was affordable. if you are in your 40's or older, do you ever recall your parents being worried over medical bills? i don't! why? because it wasn't an issue, and coincidentally, the government was not so involved in the market of health care and medicine.
but again, this issue is much larger than merely addressing the problems in our current "Health Care System". besides government bureaucracy negatively affecting the prices of health care & medicine, i question:
• why the FDA approves poisons for our foods & medicines;
• why various natural drugs and remedies are made "illegal" when they have been proven for millennia to have legitimate medical uses;
• why alternative treatment centers for willing patients having no hope for cure have been run out of "America";
• why we are not addressing the fascism within our corrupt system, which has married BIG PHARMA with BIG GOVERNMENT.
further, in addressing any issue where money is one of the major hurdles, we also must look at deficit spending, and for that matter, 100% fiat currency created by a fractional banking system which has become corrupted to the point of insanity over the last century. we simply cannot expect things to be affordable when we have allowed the USD to become entirely worthless. how much longer before our economic condition becomes identical to that of Zimbabwe?
one of the primary fundamental issues regarding the health care debacle, is the revelation which many Americans have apparently not yet realized: providing health care is not a right -- individuals do not have an entitlement to health care. this deception has pulled the wool over the eyes of so many Americans.
we have no more entitlement to government provided health care than we do for government provided food, shelter, or clothing. to live in a free society, We the People have to provide for ourselves!
now, if We the People have grown tired of providing for ourselves, and we would collectively rather have a complete Nanny State, where the government provides everything for us, then that is up to US.
and that is exactly where "America" has been headed for over half its life -- probably since the 14th Amendment was ratified at the close of the Civil War, but certainly since 1913, when the Federal Reserve and the Income Tax was instituted, snowballing into an even deeper pit of authoritarian deception by the 30's with the so called, "New Deal".
"America" will reap exactly what it has sown -- we will get what is coming to us as we continue to dispense with nearly every single aspect of LIBERTY we still have... and this particular dispensation is a BIG ONE, as we are on the brink of giving up our last claims over our unalienable right to Health Freedom -- that's Health Freedom, NOT Health Entitlement.
when an individual is no longer allowed to have control over his own health and well being, that individual is simply no longer a free man... or woman, wherever applicable! ;-)
in liberty,
8-)

How the Freedom to Contract Protects Insurability

Paul Hsieh

http://snipr.com/rr76w

In a free market, profit-seeking businessmen would likely sell insurance coverage to individuals with preexisting conditions for an appropriate price, just as they would seek to meet substantial demand for any service if profitable. However, in the unlikely event that some individuals sought to purchase a policy that covered preexisting conditions, and no insurer would sell them such a policy, they would still have a viable alternative. They would be free to form their own risk pool with other like-minded individuals willing to share those risks. They would be free to create their own insurance company.

In fact, many Americans have already formed private pools in which members voluntarily share each other's health-care costs. For instance, more than 100,000 American Christians are members of "health-care sharing ministries"—arrangements whereby members pay a monthly fee to the ministries, which in turn distribute that money to other members facing expensive medical bills. Such groups typically accept members who meet certain religious and lifestyle requirements regardless of preexisting medical conditions.

Unfortunately, these health-care sharing ministries currently cannot guarantee payments to their members, because the government would then treat them as insurance companies5 and subject them to myriad onerous state and federal regulations that specify what prices they may charge, what benefits they must offer, and which customers they must accept.6 The only thing preventing individuals from creating their own contractually binding risk pools today is the government...

Officer Does Not Like anti-Obama Poster: "It ain't [America] no more, OK?"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIKPKjl0-pg

this is a very telling example by an authoritarian police officer who apparently has no idea about Constitutionally limited government, nor unalienable individual rights, which supports my theory of recent years: we're not in "America" any more!

for years now, i've been asking for someone to please explain to me why anyone would think we are living under an "American" government:

• does the "American" government obey the law?

• does "America" remain a Constitutionally limited government, accountable to the rule of law?

• is a "free" country defined by the flag it flies?

• should We the People adopt a philosophy of blind nationalism, obeying governing authorities even when they disobey the law of the land?

• if "America" was taken over by enemies domestic (a legitimate possibility according to the Constitution), how would We the People recognize it?

this video is one more proof of the mindset adopted by a large percentage of contemporary governing authoritarians in power in this country we still call "America".

i continue to advocate we educate ourselves about the philosophy of liberty and encourage our fellow Americans to do likewise, also informing everyone about the We the People Foundation & Congress, and especially governing authorities about the Oath Keepers.

The Left-Right Political Paradigm Deception

YUP! the article, "Glenn Beck's 9/12 Project; Selling the False Left/Right Paradigm" largely encapsulates, in at least one particular area, the sort of the perspective i've had for quite a while on the media & globalist government in general.
i'm not entirely convinced one way or the other about Glenn Beck. thus far, i can no further trust his allegiance to liberty any more than any other media personality. for the time being, i will continue to give him the benefit of doubt -- that he really might be coming around to embrace the philosophy of liberty. however, i cannot help to think that they are all merely playing their part in the left-right political paradigm deception, while their real agenda has more to do with increasing their bank accounts.
i find it somewhat ironic that various commenters to this article suggest supporting Cindy Sheehan & Jeremy Scahill. in doing so, they are exemplifying the very point that the article makes -- the globalist agenda is to divide, desiring Americans to flock to one of two sides:
1. conservative-fascism
2. liberal-socialism
running away from the radical war agenda of the fascists in order to flock to the radical anti-war agenda of the socialists, whose primary rallying war cry is "PEACE" is exactly what the authoritarian bastards want! (as if there was any kind of possibility for real peace among humankind - what folly! 8-)
in doing so, the principles of liberty and rule of law are entirely bypassed: there is no talk of Constitutionally declared wars -- a legitimate and proper role of federal government -- just WAR or NO WAR with no other options in between!
and this is just ONE issue, designed to attract the focus of those people who fall for the trap of a 'single issue prime directive', so that they are distracted from other issues wherein liberty is being trampled upon.
if we Americans who desire to maximize individual liberty while minimizing the power and scope of the State are going to have any real chance of seeing our agenda being advanced in our lifetime, we need to be savvy and see through the left-right political paradigm deception, reveal it for what it is to our fellow Americans, and then come up with an appropriate plan involving peaceful and civil revolution.
my continued suggestion is to stop placing so much emphasis upon the ballot box, which is as broken as all three branches of federal government. rather, we should continue to learn more about the philosophy of liberty and encourage others to do likewise.
i personally advocate considering the agenda of two particular liberty activist groups:
We the People Foundation & Congress @ GiveMeLiberty.org
OathKeepers @ OathKeepers.org
in liberty...
